Painting your thoughts with the power of language is what elocution means. To showcase the power of language and communication, an Inter-House English Elocution was organised by The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road on 25 th August, 2026. The day witnessed budding orators entering into an arena of thought provoking speeches and poems. It transformed into an arena of reflection, philosophies, ideologies and thoughts. Dividing the competition into Junior Category comprising classes VI th to VIIIth and senior category comprising classes IX th to XIIth, the students carrying innocent gestures and demeanours conveyed the characteristic persona of great and eminent literary figures. They metamorphosed into feminists, environmentalists, political leaders, Sports person, communist, economist, poets and many more. Keeping their pieces within the limit of time duration, they were tested on the basis of intonation, voice
modulation, content and expression.
The elite panel of judges considered it to be a tough task as it was a close contest between silver- tongued orators. Clinching the title of the winner, Agrima Raj of Sapphire House and Sheikh Mohammed of Emerald House clinched the title of the winner of the junior category of the competition. Sanvi Dikshit of Amber House, Pakhi Prashant of Emerald House and Vishrut Pratap Singh of Sapphire House secured first runner-up position for the same category of the competition. In the senior section Sayeda Zainab Zaidi of Ruby House clinched the title of the winner of the competition. Manasvi Gaharwar of Emerald House and Shagun Yadav of Sapphire House secured first runner- up and second runner-up position in the same category respectively.
The day concluded with the eloquence and passion being imbibed by the students.
