An exercise in diplomacy and collaboration was witnessed as The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road organised Model United Nations 2026 maiden edition on 2nd and 3rd October 2026. Between the opening and the closing ceremony of the event exceptional debating skills, diplomacy, dialogue and intellectual discourse was witnessed. The competition began with the welcome of the Chief Guest, former bureaucrat Mr. Jalil Ahmed Khan , the Chairperson of the Collegiate Mr. Sartaj Alam Khan and the Joint Director Ma’am Fareha Khan.
The other dignitaries gracing the occasion were Ms. Harpreet Kaur, a journalist and an author and Mr. Manas Pandey, an educator at CLAT Possible. Accompanying Mr. Jalil Ahmed Khan was Mr. Shakir Hussain. The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Vijay Bhushan, retired IGP Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was also graced by Ms Sheeza Nabi, an entrepreneur and a former journalist of The Times of India. Debating borders and boundaries, the delegates of different schools of Lucknow divided themselves into various committees like UNSC, UNHRC, MIB, Marvel vs DC, Space Governance Council, FECOSOC and Lok Sabha.
They won the argument of peace and harmony by presenting a true picture of their nation. Not only the negotiation and reconciliation was celebrated but a musical landscape in the form of song and dance made them witness coordination of a different kind. The Director General Nikhil Verma and the Secretary General Pavitra Jain in their introductory speech set the tone of the conference followed by an opening video. The Secretary General declared the meet open in his address to the delegates.
The members of the Executive Body as well as the Secretariat were introduced and presented with a gavel on the stage .The appreciation of the Secretariat, Logistics team and the budding global leaders paved the way for more agendas and their solutions in future. An experienced Executive Body chaired this two day authentic simulation which provided students a platform for critical thinking and international relations. The committee of Lok Sabha recognised Ayush Upadhyay as the Best Parliamentarian for his outstanding representation of Narendra Modi. Representing Jean Grey in the committee Marvel vs DC, Kashvi Sinha secured the title of the Best Delegate. Sahar Raza Naqvi secured the title of the Best Delegate in UNHRC committee representing Russian Federation.
Representing The Federal Republic of Germany in the committee FECOSOC, Kushagra Banerjee secured the title of the Best Delegate. Mohd. Khateeb Khan in the committee UNSC secured the title of the Best Delegate representing China. Suyash Dass representing Luxembourg in the committee Space Governance Council secured the title of the Best Delegate. The Best Reporter was secured by Janhavee Srivastava representing Al- Jazeera English in the committee MIB journalism.
The Best Delegate in the committee MIB Photography was secured by Saisha Gupta representing The New York Times. The Best Delegate in the committee MIB Caricature was secured by Vanya Gupta representing Reuters. Under the Adhoc committee, the title of The General Secretary’s Best Delegate was secured by Mohd. Khateeb Khan. The title of the Best School Delegation was secured by Loreto Convent Intermediate College.
The event concluded with student delegates learning various administrative, economic, social and technological agendas of the world. In the midst of the fiery discourse, relishing food and tea ensued enjoyment and gave them a chance to socialize. They represented their amendments which were either accepted or struck and the committees adjourned. The entertainment ensued when debate transformed into rhythmic pattern on the dance floor. The Joint Director of the Collegiate, Ma’am Fareha Khan in her address necessiated the need to be a part of international relations and with this meet was declared closed by the Secretary General.
