A Tribute to Verdancy: Celebration of Earth Day and Green Day at The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road
Decking up the premises of The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road with green saplings and plants, and green cut outs resembling plants as well as the mother earth was in a way of embracing the spirit of Earth Day and Green Day. It was on 31st July 2024, that a tribute to our Mother Earth was paid in the form of a special programme organised by the tiny-tots of class III to V.
They were enthusiastic inhabitants of this planet Earth where they resembled different aspect of its usefulness in the form of a fancy show. It was all Green, Green and Green. Adding fervour to the programme was the scrape book activity, which was organised to make them feel in the lap of the Mother Earth.
A small skit as well as the song based on the occasion made the event a lively one.
“Save Earth, Save Life” that was the slogan of the day. An oath was taken to make our environment neat and clean. Various important facets related to the theme like conservation of our natural resources, planting of trees, making use of bio degradable material and to adopt the natural way of life were highlighted. Varied posters and slogans immersed everybody in a pool of Green colour from where could be seen the future of human race.
Gracing the occasion was the Director of the Collegiate Dr. J. A. Khan, Joint Director Ma’am Fareha Khan and the Principal Mr. Rajiv Gupta. They enthusiastically became witness to the efforts of the students. It was a fun-filled day, which made everybody realise the meaning of environment and its crucial role in the life of everyone.
