Inter-House Hindi Debate Competition at The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road: Basking in the Glory of Mother-Tongue

Genesis of a language and it’s progress has been the topic of interest since times immemorial.  The similar chapter commencement was witnessed in the auditorium of The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road when an Inter-House Hindi Debate Competition was organised on 5th August 2025 with the aim of promoting an essence of nativity among students. It was a duel to behold and to be mesmerized. The competition gave a tough task to junior participants including students of classes VI to VIIIth and the senior participants including IX to XIIth students with the topic like “ Is Competition good for students?” and “Is it necessary to destroy environment for our progress?” respectively.

Confidence lurking in the budding orators with their stance clear in the mind, it was an event to showcase their art of public speaking. It became the platform for genesis of those phrases, proverbs  and statements from which an  Indian aroma can be felt. Eloquent expressions articulated in mother- tongue itself was  a mark of being an Indian. They had a tough stance being judged for content, expression, delivery and pronunciation.  Agrima Raj and Ishan Sharma of Sapphire House from junior and  senior sections respectively paved their way to become the harbinger of a  time which will celebrate Hindi by becoming the winner.

The Director of the Collegiate Dr. Jawaid Alam Khan as well as the Joint Director Ma’am Fareha Khan took up the reins of this arena of articulation by instilling in them a love for the mother- tongue. The Principal Mr Rajiv Gupta standing as a torch- bearer of this argumentative competition congratulated the students for being an agile participant.
