Words when spoken with conviction and written with indelible ink can give rise to a voice of a century. It can formulate rules and rights. The voice can transform into an echo. The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road witnessed the power of these words on the historic occasion of 26th January, 2026. Keeping in mind the spirit of the day, an Inter-House English Debate was organised. The competition was divided into two categories Junior Section comprising classes VIth to VIIIth and Senior Section comprising IXth and XIth. Junior section presented their arguments on the topic “ We fight for our Rights but forget our Duties.” while Senior section spoke on the topic “Time spent on Social Media can lead to Cyber Bullying, Anxiety and Depression.” The duel of thoughts as it progressed with the arguments and counter arguments presented before the judges a lively session of facts. The historic day when the destinies of the people of India was written was echoing the power of words.
The day witnessed the fighters invoking the spirit of nationalism in the form of Taekwondo performers showing their power. Echoing were the voices and slogans of the national heroes as a fancy dress show from tiny-tots was presented. Our national heroes like B.R. Ambedkar , Lala Lajpat Rai, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru etc. became lively. The day was a lively Kaleidoscope of the patriotic songs and dances, where melodious tunes and rhythmic movements presented the tunes of the nativity. Amidst jubilations, the declaration of the result of the debate competition from the esteemed panel of judges came as an added bonanza. Suyassh Dass of Sapphire House bagged the title of the winner from Junior Section. From Senior section Syeda Zainab Zaidi of Ruby House bagged the title of the winner.
The Joint Director of the Collegiate, instilled in them a feeling to continuously strive on the path of excellence. The lively presentations made the day lively with faces gleaming with a patriotic sheen. The Principal Mr. Rajiv Gupta finally concluded the programme by his words of encouragement for the entire fraternity of The Collegiate.
