Silence creates a void and communication keeps the flow of ideas in continuation. From this flow of ideas, emerges the facts, realities, truths and logics. Keeping the same spirit in mind The Lucknow Public Collegiate, Jopling Road organised an Inter-School ASISC Zonal level Junior category Debate on 12th August 2026 where 12 prestigious schools took part. The day became witness to a fiery session by the young debaters who were ready to make a significant mark by their convincing arguments. The enriching session was presided by an elite panel of judges and an experienced moderator. The competition included students of classes IXth and Xth . The topic of the debate was Technology is making students less creative.
Arguing for and against the motion the budding orators kept on presenting the convincing arguments to prove their stance against the worthy opponents. A fiery rebuttal brought to light the deep knowledge of the topic that was announced on the spot. Uses of Artificial Intelligence like making projects, drawings, animations , generating speeches, script writing , solving numericals, decorating soft boards, dancing steps and lyrics for singing were discussed . The word Creativity was focussed upon. The concept of human touch came to light. The role of teachers, parents, friends versus robots were discussed. Modern life stress and mental diseases and the role of online platforms for relieving stress were the major arguments which are the burning topics of this current century. Emerging victorious in this duel of words was Spring Dale College, LDA Colony and City Montessori School Rajajipuram clinching the title of best speaker for the motion and best speaker against the motion respectively. The first runner up for and against the motion was secured by Lucknow Public College , A Block. The second runner up for the motion was secured by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram while against the motion was secured by Spring Dale College, LDA Colony.
The Joint Director of the Collegiate Ma’am Fareha Khan in her address articulated the importance of public speaking for the students. Honing this skill will lead to better academic results. The Principal Mr Rajiv Gupta congratulated all the participants on being a part of this eloquent journey.
